Pro Sports

The Hail Marys
The Hail Marys are an all-girl roller derby team that is part of the Arizona Rollergirls league. The sports team takes on other all-girl teams during their season of roller derby action. It is safe to say that all of these women have colorful and bigger-than-life personalities that they take with them into the rink. Bring the whole family out for an evening of intense and always unpredictable fun.

Arizona Rattlers
The Arizona Rattlers are part of the Arena Football League and compete in the Western Division of the National Conference. The sports team has won six division titles since it was established in 1992. The Rattlers play their home games at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. They conduct their practices at Gene Autry Park in Mesa.

Four Peaks
If mountain biking is your thing, then you have plenty to smile about when taking your bike out in Mesa. One of the most popular bike trail routes is found at Four Peaks. This recreation trail passes through some of the most picturesque areas of the Sonoran desert and ends on the crest of the Mazatzal Mountains. Located about thirty miles northeast of Mesa, the surface is divided as it features 13 miles of maintained dirt road and 23 miles of double track.

Browns Peak
Aim high when you go for a challenging yet invigorating hike on Brown's Peak in Mesa. This recreation trail winds up to the highest, northernmost summit of Four Peaks at the end of the Mazatzal Mountains. Most of the hike is on a trail, but part of the ascent requires cross-country travel and the summit involves a rock scramble, so be prepared.

Pass Mountain Trail
The Pass Mountain Trail winds through the western Goldfield Mountains northeast of Mesa. You will feel a sense of serenity in the remoteness of this trail since it is situated close to Phoenix. The recreation trail does offer plenty of excellent scenery, and a fence clearly marks the boundary of the Tonto National Forest as the trail slowly ascends around the north side of the mountain.

Salt River Tubing & Recreation, Inc.
Despite Mesa's desert heat, you can still keep cool as you glide along the current of the Salt River when you go on a water recreation, tubing adventure. An establishment known as the Salt River Tubing and Recreation Inc. provides a starting point, tube rentals, and more amenities when you go on this splashy ride. The facility is open seven days a week, water and weather permitting.

Riverview Lake
If your idea of an excellent afternoon involves water recreation like boating and fishing, then Mesa's Riverview Lake is your ideal destination.
